Job Description:
Embedded Hardware Design Engineer to design and develop embedded hardware subsystems for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) applications.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded hardware subsystems for flight and safety critical UAS applications, including prototyping for new product development
- Board-level mixed signal circuit design, schematic development and component selection
- PCB layout for complex multi-layered boards including layer stackup, placement, routing, Gerber file generation
- Provide technical support for PCB manufacturing and testing support for new product development
- Support for developing embedded system products including writing requirements, standards, test procedures and test reports for such products
Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in ECE/ICE or other related field
Experience: 0-2 years
Desired Characteristics:
- Hands-on experience in embedded system hardware design and development
- Experience in circuit design, schematic, layout development and manufacturability for multi-layer, compact PCBs is required
- Familiarity with designing for 8051/AVR/ARM/PIC Micro Controllers
- Knowledge of interfaces such as USB, I2C, UART, SPI, Ethernet, CAN
- Experience in designing boards for high speed digital systems and high accuracy analog circuits
- Experience with PCB tools such as CADSoft Eagle, Altium, PADS is desirable
- Experience in hardware debug, testing and troubleshooting for new product development is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Creative and curious – open to learning, identifying and solving problems
- Self-driven, able to work and manage self independently
